Membership
The Executive Committee (CTCEC) members for Clinical Trials Compliance Office established in December, 2005. Standing membership includes all current Clinical Trials Executive Committee members as follows:
- Yvonne Brinson, Assistant Dean, Research Administration and Compliance Office
- Dara Cangelosi, Director of Billing and Accounts Receivable, University of Florida Physicians
- Peter Pevonka, Associate Vice-President for Research and Senior Associate Dean for Research Administration, College of Medicine
- Jane Schumaker, Associate Dean and Chief Executive Officer, UF Faculty Group Practice
- Nina Tarnuzzer, Director, Clinical Billing Compliance Office, College of Medicine
Attorneys from the Office of Vice President for Health Affairs and UF General Counsel serve as advisors to the CTCSC:
- Susan Collingwood, Senior Associate General Counsel for Health Affairs
- Dianne Farb, Associate University Counsel for Research and Health Affairs
Nominees are selected based on a variety of skills and experience including applicable professional expertise, integrity, sound judgment, openness and inclusiveness.
Purpose & Responsibilities
Purpose: The UF Clinical Trials Compliance Committee (CTCEC) provides advice, direction and support for the Clinical Trials Compliance Office which is charged with ensuring fiscal compliance with all Federal and State regulations. The CTCEC serves to advise and support the Director of the Clinical Trials Compliance Office, and assist in implementation of the Clinical Trials Compliance efforts throughout the College of Medicine.
Responsibilities:
- Become knowledgeable in current clinical trials compliance issues and stay informed on the changing national climate of regulation.
- Advise the Clinical Trials Compliance Office in the development and maintenance of the Clinical Trials Compliance policy, standards and procedures to promote compliance.
- Advise and discuss regarding high risk areas of potential non-compliance.
- Advise and assist in the formation and maintenance of an adequate system of communication for reporting, education, and training concerning clinical trials compliance throughout UF.
- Evaluate and advise regarding the effectiveness of the Clinical Trials Compliance Plan.
- Seek advice of General Counsel regarding the legal requirements with which UF must comply and identify the specific areas of risk for non-compliance.
- Determine the appropriate strategy or approach to promote compliance within specific or unique departments and divisions.
- Develop new objectives on an annual basis for the CTCEC.
- Embrace and apprise others of the importance of the Committees’ work, as an ambassador and representative member of the CTCEC.
